Helen Calcutt

Helen’s poetry, journalism and critical writing has featured in the Guardian, The Huffington Post, The Brooklyn Review, Wild Court, Poetry Scotland, The London Magazine and Unbound, among others. She is the author of there volumes of poetry; ‘Sudden rainfall’ published by Perdika Press (2014) was a PBS Pamphlet Choice. ‘Unable Mother’ described as a ‘a violent and tender grapple with our cosy notions of motherhood’ (Robert Peake) was publised by V.Press in 2018. A new pamphlet of poems ‘Somehow’, will be published by Verve Poetry Press in September 2020.
Helen is creator and editor of acclaimed poetry anthology ‘Eighty-Four’. It was published by Verve Poetry Press in January 2019, shortlisted for the Saboteur Awards, Best Anthology, 2019, and a Poetry Wales Book of the Year. Helen is a visiting lecturer in Creative Writing at Loughborough University and works as a writing tutor for the Poetry School, Writing West Midlands and N.A.W.E.
